I recently received this question when I delivered a motivational talk with students from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business: “What’s the biggest challenge regarding personal branding?
Maybe some of these are in your mind for the answers:
- imposter syndrom
- lack of clarity
- or wanting too many things.
I had to pause and take a minute to think before I uttered my answers. And it was none of these things.

Just a disclaimer. I have yet to research data to back up my opinion. So my answers were merely observations.
Branding is one of the topics I’m interested in exploring and studying. As a writer, I can create impressions and build images through words. Thus, I have been teaching about it since 2019 among freelancers and entrepreneurs in the Philippines.
