Tips in Managing Your Time Effectively

  1. Know Your Personal Benchmark

Find out how much time you can complete a writing task. How many minutes or hours do you need to work to write 1,000 words? If you have a standard and know your capability, you’ll be able to assess how much time you need for a specific writing project.

  1. Strategize

Choose on how you’ll approach completing a writing project.

  • Sprint: Completing a task in a shorter time, for straight hours or days.
  • Marathon: Usually needed for long-form projects like books, assign a number of hours or days in a week to write.
  1. Listen to your internal clock.

Be aware of your personal rhythm. When are you most creative? Manage your energy and choose a block of time when it’s productive for you to write. Do you have an environment conducive for writing in the morning or at night?
