Often, articles and email marketing advice focus
But there are other important parts of your e-mail newsletter that you shouldn’t ignore:
1. Preview Text
This is the phrase seen after your email subject when a reader views your inbox screen.
See the phrase “Writing Effective Titles” above my header photo?
That’s the preview text.
Writing a short one that would fit your inbox screen along with your subject line is just perfect.
Use this instead of a long sentence that gets cut and doesn’t give meaning when seen by your reader.
2. From Field
Make sure your email autoresponders settings will publish your company name or the name of the e-mail sender.
Not providing this lets your subscriber see only the e-mail address where the message came from.
If your name is more familiar to your reader, you can type your name on the From Field than your business name.
3. Content
The content of your e-mails will depend on your purpose. Are you sending a nurture e-mail or a sales e-mail?
Nurture e-mails are informative content that adds value to your message. Balance sending sales and nurture e-mails to keep your subscribers engaged.
Don’t be afraid to make offers within your nuture emails because that’s what will keep your business running.
4. Sign-off
Quick and witty sign-offs or closing signature are trending nowadays.
But it’s not a requirement.
You can simply type your name and designation if this is taking your time to finish writing your e-mail.
5. CTA
Make your readers notice your call-to-action (CTA) buttons by using visible colors.
Studies say that the CTA button at the bottom-end of e-mails still works best!
But don’t be afraid to create hyperlinks all throughout your e-mail and limited these to three as much as possible.
